Description
With the help of Henry and Diesel 10, Frankie was ready to win back the Steelworks from the Diesel Shunters.
Diesel 10: Here’s what I’d like to know, Frankie. If you know the way to the Steelworks, why are Henry and I in the front?
Frankie: I suppose it’s because those diesel shunters wouldn’t dare bother such big, strong engines like yourselves.
(They arrive at the mainland Canal. Beresford notices them.)
Diesel 10: Well, as long as there aren’t any delays, I shouldn’t be bothered.
(Then…)
Beresford: HALT!
(Beresford drops a barge in front of the tracks.)
Beresford: Who goes there?!
(Diesel 10 smashed into the barge.)
Diesel 10: Argh!
(Henry and Frankie stop beside Diesel 10.)
Diesel 10: (Muffled) You have got to be kidding me!
Frankie: Excuse me, Big Crane? We really need to get through.
(Beresford hooks up to Frankie and lifts her off the ground.)
Frankie: (Gasps) Aah! Stop this right this instant! Oh!
Beresford: (Chuckles) I’m afraid I can’t do that. You see, only nice engines are allowed through.
(One of the Diesel shunters is seen on the other side.)
Diesel Shunter: Hi.
Frankie: Now, listen here, you big crane! Let me down this instant!
Diesel 10: (Groans) Now what are we going to do?!
(Henry gets an idea)
Henry: Hello. You’re a gantry Crane, aren’t you?
Beresford: Of course, I am. (moves left) I can slide to the left.
(Beresford stops at the end, causing Frankie to swing.)
Frankie: Aah! Put me down right this instant!
(Beresford slides to the right.)
Beresford: And I can slide to the right. That’s what gantry cranes do, hey?
Henry: Indeed. And I must say you do it ever so well. I’ve seen many cranes at work, but I’ve never seen one as skilled as you are. In fact, I’d say behind every useful railway is a really useful crane like yourself.
Beresford: You know, I didn’t catch you name.
Henry: Henry.
Beresford: Well, Henry, just for that, I’m going to let you all through.
(Beresford lowers Frankie on to the ground.)
Frankie: Phew!
(Beresford lifts the barge up and throws it back into the sea.)
Beresford: Away you go, my friends!
(The diesel’s grin turns into a worried expression.)
Diesel Shunter: Uh oh! (runs away)
(Frankie, Diesel 10 and Henry head to the Steelworks.)
